What happens during the first consultation?

The initial consultation provides an opportunity for you to become acquainted with me as your counsellor and get used to expressing your thoughts, feelings, concerns and goals. The aim of your future sessions will be to help you gain an understanding of what is happening and why, clarify goals and discuss personalised strategies for change. Expect the first session to be a getting to know you experience and gaining an overview of any issues that are troubling you at this time, the following sessions are able to get more to the heart of matters and where the real work begins.

What people are saying
about our training programs:

“I first came across Sally at a workshop she was facilitating a few years ago. The workshop was about suicide and suicide prevention training. Whilst I have only had to implement facets of this training on only a handful of times, I am grateful for the training because without it, I don’t know if I would have known how to react and handle it. I have been very fortunate over the years to have been the recipient of lots of professional development, but this workshop with Sally would arguably be the most powerful and important professional development I have received. It changed my life, without question”

"Great Training! well delivered despite difficult topic, thanks!"

"Great presentation. Fantastic links to real life scenarios."

"Ask directly, and the flexibility of the steps"

"Best practice language, client led approach, safety first"
